As part of our commitment to skills development and technical education, we work closely with CEMAST to provide hands-on training opportunities, industry insights, and access to real-world tools and technologies.

Through our trusted manufacturing supply network, including our key partner Bosch, we deliver high-quality training sessions and resources directly to engineering students.

Through our partnership, Bosch not only provides expert-led workshops but also contributes thousands of pounds’ worth of professional tooling to Southampton College, helping to equip classrooms with the tools needed to inspire and educate future engineers and technical, trades or construction professionals.

Southern Power Tools is proud to support Men’s Sheds across the UK, not just with tools and training, but by standing alongside them in the fight against loneliness, isolation, and the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

Men’s Sheds provide a vital space where men can connect, share skills, and support one another, all while working on meaningful, hands-on projects.

We’re committed to helping these community hubs thrive by supplying high-quality tools, materials, and technical training, ensuring members have everything they need to work safely and confidently.

Born out of personal challenge and resilience, Be Kind, Give Time connects people navigating difficult transitions like redundancy or career uncertainty with volunteer professionals who generously share their time, advice, and encouragement. It’s about more than just mentoring; it’s about showing up with compassion and helping others find clarity, confidence, and a fresh start.

We resonate deeply with this mission. We support the non-profit by championing its values, promoting awareness, and encouraging our own network to give back, offering their knowledge, time, and experience to those who need it most.

Whether it’s career coaching for those involved with power tools, HSE compliance or in connected industries, general business insights, or simply listening, we believe in the ripple effect of kindness and practical help.

We recognise the importance of developing a skilled, sustainable workforce and creating opportunities for local communities. Our key initiatives include:

• Offering product training sessions in construction, trades, and maintenance. These sessions enhance compliance, safety, and practical skills for apprentices, team members, and community participants.
• Partnering with Be Kind Give Time to offer nationwide mentorship, providing career support and guidance to individuals across construction, facilities management, trades and more.
• Encouraging employee volunteering for our employees to use their paid volunteer days to engage in local community initiatives and support charitable projects.
• Contributing to health and wellbeing initiatives such as community garden-building projects and food distribution, as well as providing online safety training to support safer working practices.
• Collaborating with CEMAST. a technology and engineering college, to help develop the next generation of skilled, compliant workers.

• Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions: We are transitioning to a fully electric fleet, with over 66% of our vehicles already low-emission or electric, reducing emissions related to deliveries and site visits.
• Energy-Efficient Operations: Our gas-free facility is equipped with energy-efficient systems such as heat recovery and LED lighting. We conduct regular energy audits to track our carbon footprint and identify opportunities for further energy savings.
• Waste Reduction & Circular Economy: We offer a tool recycling service to responsibly collect and dispose of end-of-life tools and batteries, ensuring minimal landfill waste and safe recycling of recyclable materials.
• Sustainable Procurement: We work with eco-conscious suppliers to ensure the tools and materials used in our operations are responsibly sourced, promoting ethical and sustainable procurement practices.
• Water Conservation: We use water-efficient fixtures and appliances, and continuously monitor water usage to identify further conservation opportunities. We also engage with local water conservation projects as part of our commitment to responsible resource management.
